4. User Data and Privacy

We handle data differently for Free and Premium users:

• Free Version:
  • Resume and application data stored locally and on our servers
  • Basic usage analytics collected
  • Data persists until extension uninstall
• Premium Version:
  • All resume and application data can stay local
  • Export/import functionality available
  • Basic usage analytics collected
  • Enhanced privacy features

5. Data Rights and Deletion

Users can request data deletion by emailing applyengine.ai at gmail dot com. We comply with GDPR and CCPA requirements:

• 30-day response time for privacy requests
• Complete data deletion upon request
• Option to opt-out of data collection (Premium)

6. Subscription and Payments

We offer a free version and a one-time payment Premium version. Premium features are clearly marked in the Service.

7. Payment Processing and Data

For payment processing:

• We use Stripe as our payment processor
• Your payment information, email, and billing details are collected and stored by Stripe
• We do not have access to your full payment details
• Stripe maintains industry-standard security measures to protect your payment information
• Receipts and payment confirmations are handled through Stripe's system

8. Refund Policy

Due to the nature of our service and the fact that Free and Premium versions have the same core functionality (differing only in data persistence), we do not offer refunds.

9. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your OpenAI API key
• Managing your own data backups
• Using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws
• Any costs associated with your OpenAI API usage

10. Limitations of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for:

• Data loss due to extension uninstallation or browser data clearing
• Costs incurred through OpenAI API usage
• Accuracy of AI-generated content
• Third-party services integration issues

11. Account Registration and Usage

To use the Service, you may need to register or create a user account for storing your OpenAI API key. When doing so:

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API key and login credentials
• You agree to be responsible for all activities under your account
• You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized access
• Each user may register only one account
• Account sharing is not permitted

12. Acceptable Use

The Service may only be used for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Use automated processes to extract data from job boards beyond the Service's intended functionality
• Attempt to bypass any technical limitations or security measures
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use the Service to spam job applications or engage in abusive behavior
• Attempt to manipulate or game job application systems
• Share or sell access to the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

13. Content and Data Rights

Regarding content and data in the Service:

• You retain all rights to your resume, cover letters, and personal data
• You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your submissions
• We claim no ownership of AI-generated content
• The Service's interface and features remain our intellectual property

14. Service Interruption and Updates

Regarding service availability:

• We may update the Service to improve functionality or fix issues
• Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features
• Premium users will receive significant notice of any major changes
• We are not liable for interruptions due to browser updates or compatibility issues

15. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services:

• OpenAI API (user-provided key)
• Job board websites
• Payment processor (Stripe)
• Browser extension platform (Chrome Web Store)

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for their availability or functionality.

16. Intellectual Property

The Service's software, design, and functionality are protected by intellectual property laws:
